Loustri Music Ensemble is producing and presenting a weekly Radio Show which is broadcasted every Sunday, at 16:00 UTC on Acik Radyo (Greece 18:00 – web, Turkey 19:00 – terrestrial and web , Centr.Europe 17:00 – web).
The show is titled “A call from the Aegean” . The show focuses mainly on Greek music – especially Rebetiko. Arkan Çineçi – from London – is contributing to the show with his informative column about the main actors of the Rebetiko scene.
This week Acik Radyo celebrates the 28th “birthday” and is broadcasting all its shows from the Istanbul Biennale. Three Turkish speaking members of the Loustri Ensemble (Görkem-Vocals/Kanun, Asimoula-Vocals/Guitar and Yannis-Vocals/Bouzouki) will present the Loustri Radio Show from the Istanbul Bienalle location LIVE! They will perform and talk about the songs they will perform.
Metin Belgin – a co-presenter of the show in its early days back in 2002/2003- will join in the show presenting and reading two poems.
